Cyberpunk 2077 Developer To Offer Free Next-Gen Upgrade If You Already Own The Game

Game developer, CD Projekt Red continue to rack up the GoodGuy™ points with gamers as they have announced that if you purchase their upcoming title, Cyberpunk 2077, on Xbox One, you will get a free upgrade to the next generation Xbox Series X version when it releases.

This comes as a welcome surprise in an industry that seems to pride itself on re-selling the same game to players across console generations. Although credit where credit is due, in this current generation Microsoft have already been allowing gamers to purchase a single copy of a game and then play it across both their Windows 10 and Xbox One platforms.

Alongside this news, Microsoft revealed more details about the features of their upcoming Xbox Series X console, including their new Smart Delivery system.

This technology is available for all developers and publishers, and they can choose to use it for titles that will be release on Xbox One first and come to the Xbox Series X later.
